    Lee Wrathe

Lee began playing guitar at the tender age of 4 after watching his hero (his dad Tony) playing guitar in function bands.

He learned his favourite songs by ear, having been exposed to all kinds of incredible guitar playing on the vinyl records played by Tony, who also showed him his first few chords, scales.

Hendrix, Zeppelin, Django, Les Paul, Mark Knopfler, Queen were all regulars on the playlist…amongst many others.

Lee really began taking the guitar ‘seriously’ when he was exposed to the playing of Joe Satriani and Steve Vai via a VHS recording made of their EXPO performance in Seville in 1992.

After hour upon hour of dedicated watching, listening and practise, Lee managed to cop the licks of his newfound heroes and It was then that he decided to take some lessons with local guitar legend David Buckley, who helped Lee to understand the theory behind the licks he’d learnt. David and lee remain great friends to this day.

At the tender age of 17, Lee’s expertise secured him a career as a guitar tutor. Lee’s devotion to the instrument continued into adulthood, where he released several instrumental demos, and became a regular face on the local music scene.

Lee continued to work tirelessly in the field of tuition and demonstration, securing him a reputation as a highly respected and sought-after product demonstrator for some of the world’s biggest guitar brands. He is now a proud Endorsee for Ibanez, Laney Amplification and D’Addario strings. As well as the YouTube demonstrator for Dawsons Music UK. In addition to that he is one of the Tutors on the highly respected guitar tuition website, Licklibrary and a contributor to Guitar Interactive Magazine.

Lee regularly attends and demonstrates at Guitar Shows in the U.K and Asia as well as the NAMM show in California.
